Clearer service & viewing cards: dates, countdown, LIVE, and RSVP

Memorial pages now show viewing and service details in a refined event card—day and time stay side by side, a live countdown leads into the moment, families see when the service is LIVE, and RSVP stays one tap away.

RSVP to Service: event date, time, venue, guest details, and which services guests plan to attend

We redesigned the service and viewing experience card on memorial pages so guests immediately understand when and where gatherings happen—without hunting through paragraphs of text.

Day and time, together

The card uses a two-column “When” layout: weekday and calendar date on one side, clock time and timezone context on the other. That pairing reduces mix-ups between “which Saturday?” and “which clock time?” when families share the page widely. The preview at the top shows RSVP in context with the same date, time, and venue families see next to the event card.

LIVE when the moment arrives

When the scheduled time is reached, the card switches to a LIVE state with a clear visual pulse—so someone opening the page mid-service knows they are joining an active moment, not reading stale copy.

The same event card families see on the memorial page: LIVE replaces the ticking countdown once the scheduled start time has passed.

Full-bleed memorial hero, then the same event card

Many themes open with a full-width memorial hero—photo or sky treatment, the loved one’s name, and a gentle nudge to scroll. Immediately below, the same service card carries the schedule: guests land on emotion first, then get day, time, countdown or LIVE, directions, and RSVP in one place.

After the hero, this is the card guests scroll to: “When” stays split for clarity, and the countdown ticks until the service goes LIVE.

RSVP stays in context

RSVP remains directly under directions and venue details, so intent to attend stays tied to the same block of information families use to plan their day.

Same card: venue, directions, then RSVP—one obvious action so attendance intent stays next to the logistics families already read.

We will keep iterating on typography and contrast for outdoor memorials and dim venues—if you spot an edge case on a live page, tell us and we will tune it.
